We all know that the fear of public speaking is one of the biggest fears that most people have. Just the thought of having to get up in front of a group of people can cause some to go into full panic attacks. There a many different methods to combating this fear: deep breathing exercises, NLP (Neural Linguistic Programming), even drug therapy. “Pain is temporary; Quitting is forever”

I think this quote is appropriate to public speaking because it relays the message “your fear is temporary”. If you tell yourself “the fear will only last a little bit” and realize that if you don’t take the opportunities to speak, you are quitting on yourself, and that is forever.

So, the next time you have the opportunity to speak, don’t let the fear make you a quitter. Realize that you can overcome it and be able to speak well.

I know that quoting a TV show can be not as profound as a former first lady (Eleanor Roosevelt) or one of the all time great geniuses (Albert Einstein). However, I think this quote has a great truth in it.
